How can we help?

Everything you need to get the most out of Thumbnail Factory. Browse by topic below.

Getting started

How do I create my first thumbnail?

Paste a YouTube or podcast link (or enter your episode details), upload a headshot, pick a template, and generate. You'll get finished thumbnails in under a minute — no design step.

What photo should I upload?

A clear, well-lit photo where your face is visible and reasonably large in the frame works best. For interviews, upload one photo per person. Avoid heavy filters or sunglasses unless you want those in the result.

How do credits work?

One generated thumbnail uses one credit. Regenerating a new option uses another. Interview (two-face) thumbnails and square podcast art count the same as a solo thumbnail. Your plan sets how many you get.

Generating thumbnails

Solo vs. interview thumbnails

Upload one headshot for a solo thumbnail, or two for an interview — host on the left, guest on the right, each real face placed correctly. Interviews are a core strength, not an afterthought.

Split-testing variations

Generate several versions at once and compare them side by side, then pick the one you want to publish. Great for finding the angle that pulls the most clicks.

Square podcast cover art

Turn any thumbnail into matching square artwork for Apple Podcasts and Spotify with one option — same face, same style, formatted for podcast apps.

Editing the text

The headline is generated from your title, spelled correctly. You can regenerate or adjust the text and the thumbnail rebuilds around it.

Faces & quality

How do I get the best likeness?

Upload a clear, front-facing photo where your face is large in the frame. For the most faithful result, a couple of good photos of the same person help the model lock your identity.

A face came out looking a little off — what do I do?

Regenerate — results vary slightly each time, and a second pass usually nails it. Starting from a sharper, better-lit source photo makes the biggest difference.

Will it keep my real skin tone and features?

Yes. We place your real face into the design rather than inventing one, and preserve your skin tone, hair, and features — including on two-person interview thumbnails.
